Job Responsibilities
- Preparation of opinions regarding Freedom-to-Operate (FTO), validity of third parties' patent rights, and other patent-related matters;
- Draft, file and prosecute original patents and handle employees' remuneration therefore;
- Support business team for detecting possible patent infringement acts and systematically advise on actions to be undertaken;
- Proactively analyze and disseminate patent information within R&D, Technical Service and other business teams;
- Search and monitor patent activities in China in fields of interest to WACKER group;
- Coordinate work of external patent attorneys;
- Work out and maintain up-to date standard documents and procedures in Chinese and English to be used in day-to-day business.
Qualifications Required
- Excellent educational background to Bachelor degree level or beyond in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science, or a related chemistry discipline;
- Knowledge and/or experience of patent filing and prosecution either from industrial background or from private practice;
- Knowledge and/or experience in lab research is preferred;
- Ideally qualified as a Chinese Patent Attorney, although candidates close to qualification might be equally considered;
- Fluent in reading and writing Chinese and English.
